Our purpose for writing was to communicate our identity effectively as a writer.

I was good at writing using a great hook to make my reader interested in my writing e.g I wrote “talofa”   because I wanted my reader to know that I am samoan.

Another thing I was good at was using punctuation to show my reader how to read my writing the way I want to and so that it can be more interested e.g talofa! Malo ni! I used an explanation mark because I wanted my reader to know that I am talking directly to them and I am excited to talk to them.

I need to get better at making my reader work something out by
-Giving clues and not starting directly
- Using anecdotes examples

My next steps is taking responsibility of my work like sitting next to the people I know that I wont talk to and asking for help more often so that I can get my work done and I can get what I want and need.

Another activity was making a necklace and putting your dreams in it so it could come true and drawing samoan patterns in the marae. Eteuati’s Maths Learning Story Term 3 2019 How do we solve a tricky math problem as a group?  Eluama’s family in Tokelau tell him to get some coconuts. He climbs three different coconut trees.  He climbed 3m up the first tree, 3.9m up the second tree and 2.2m up the third tree.  His friend climbed 3 different trees. The first one he climbed was 2.4m, the second one he climbed was 3.3m and the third one he climbed was 4.3m.  Which of them did the most climbing that day?   So first we write down the problem. Then we were comparing the first tree that Eluama climbed which was 3m and the second tree that he climbed wish was 3.9m so I added them together which = 6.9m. Eteuati's Maths Learning Story.

Uati's math learning story I was trying to find out how much milk cartons will fit inside the box - the volume. First I tried to find out the volume of the  box to see how many milk cartons can fit inside the box. First I added the length, the width and the height because it is the volume of the box, but it didn't work so I used multiplication and it = 30492 and that was the volume of the box. After that I tried to find out the volume of the milk carton by also adding it, but it also didn’t work so then I used multiply   the length and the width and the height of the milk carton and it =135. So I worked out that I had to use multiply instead of addition to find out the volume of the box and the milk carton.
