Eteuati’s report.
“Work hard, dream big, never give up”.

I am good at my job (recycling) because I always try to come and do it on time.  We do it on Monday at the end of the day because the trucks come on Tuesday. Sometimes the kids will throw their rubbish in the recycling bin so we tell the teacher and then she will remind the class not to throw the rubbish in the recycling.

In kapa haka I am good at standing still and looking at Matua Todd when he is speaking.  I was also good at remembering where to stand and being loud and proud and I’m good at showing sharp actions.

I am good at maths because I listen to who is talking by looking straight at who is talking. If I have an idea I would share it with my group and I am also good at working in a group because they will help me if I do something wrong and we can solve the problem together as a group.

In my Samoan Language class I am good at being funny. I was good at asking questions because if I didn’t know what Sia said I would ask her. I was good at making other people feel confident by saying “you got this” or I would help them. I am good at making other kids feel happy by playing with them when we are playing a game outside.

What was challenging for me was my maths and my reading because some words I don’t know but I try to sound it out. Maths is hard because sometimes I don’t know how to solve the problem, but that is why I like to work in a group because they will help me.    

I have achieved doing my learning plans faster because last year it was hard for me , but now it’s not. I have achieved in my reading because last year it was hard for me but now I am reading harder books.     
My next steps are to join more clubs. Also to read different kinds of books and do some more maths that is hard for me but not too hard, just the right level for me.

Another activity was making a necklace and putting your dreams in it so it could come true and drawing samoan patterns in the marae. W e had some play outside but it was shute do, the game that I was playing outside was soccer with my friends Fares and Tuivasa. But before the soccer began, we made our teams but it was easy because the girls wanted to vs  the boys and the boys wanted to vs the girls so it happened. Eteuati’s Maths Learning Story Term 3 2019 How do we solve a tricky math problem as a group?  Eluama’s family in Tokelau tell him to get some coconuts. He climbs three different coconut trees.  He climbed 3m up the first tree, 3.9m up the second tree and 2.2m up the third tree.  His friend climbed 3 different trees. The first one he climbed was 2.4m, the second one he climbed was 3.3m and the third one he climbed was 4.3m.  Which of them did the most climbing that day?   So first we write down the problem. Then we were comparing the first tree that Eluama climbed which was 3m and the second tree that he climbed wish was 3.9m so I added them together which = 6.9m. Eteuati's Maths Learning Story.

Uati's math learning story I was trying to find out how much milk cartons will fit inside the box - the volume. First I tried to find out the volume of the  box to see how many milk cartons can fit inside the box. First I added the length, the width and the height because it is the volume of the box, but it didn't work so I used multiplication and it = 30492 and that was the volume of the box. After that I tried to find out the volume of the milk carton by also adding it, but it also didn’t work so then I used multiply   the length and the width and the height of the milk carton and it =135. So I worked out that I had to use multiply instead of addition to find out the volume of the box and the milk carton.
